Describe the state of the world in the year of your birth. What significant or historical events occurred or were occurring at that time ? Who were the leaders of your country ?Then describe the changes that have occurred since that time and discuss the state of the world today.
It was 1983, the year I was born and obviously the world had a significant change during that time. Speaking of the state of the world, the international situation had been one of increasing volatility and instability. In other words, the prevailing tensions and confrontations between East and West would be the major characteristics during that time. It states that the East-West relations, especially that East-West military balance of power which establishes the basis for the international situation, has been altered with the change in the balance of power dominant between the United States and the Soviet Union in the1970s.
While the unity demonstrated by the free and democratic nations at both the Williamsburg and London Summit Meetings will contributed to building more stable East-West relations, the Soviet Union is unlikely to be able in the immediate future to formulate a definite foreign policy toward the West.
Besides, the forth leader of Taiwan, my country, was Chiang Ching-kuo in 1983.
