Stephen Shore has been renowned as a pioneer in both colour photography
and the new approaches to landscape. As a prodigy of the medium,
he was given a darkroom kit and until the age of fourteen,
Edward Steichen bought his work for the Museum of Modern Art. Shore used to
visit Warhol's factory in his late teens and has been a habitué during this period of time.
In late 1970s, he set off on a series of road trips around United States,
producing a body of photographs which have been acknowledged as a crucial influence
by Andreas Gursky and Tomas Struth among others.
